Innisfil Minor Hockey COOKSTOWN DENTAL CENTRE Atom LL 3 Team OCHL March Classic Champions!!!
The
IMHA Cookstown Dental Centre Atom LL3 team travelled to Oshawa to cap off their
March Break as Champions. First up was a
fast skating St Andrews teams .The defence Christian Woolhead, Nolan Moores
,Cole Hebert, and Nicholas Richardson played a solid game defensively holding
the line and battling in the corners to get the puck out of our end. The
forward Line of Keigan Moore, Vinny Maisuria ,and Alex Caruana kept the
pressure on with Keigan Moore netting a
Hat trick on the way to the teams first win of the tourney 3-1. Game two was an
early morning start . The team came out flying against a very solid Christ
Church. Alex Caruana was first on the game sheet with the Go-ahead Goal in the
first period .
Forward Line of Ethan Richer, Jaxon Brennan and Emily Knight were able to keep the game close by making sure the puck stayed deep in the opposing teams end, while Kyler Crossley was an iron Curtain between the pipes earning a shut -out 2-0 win. Next up was the undefeated Renfrew Barkers. Barkers got on the board first taking the lead 1-0. Jayden Mingay made a great pass to line mate Jayden Murray who buried the puck to tie it up at 1 with 17 seconds left in the first period .After 2 periods of play ,Innisfil was down 4-2 where the score remained, losing to the Barkers by a score of 4-2 . Not to worry though, the team would be meeting the Barkers for a rematch in the Championship game. The Hawks went in pumped for their final game against Renfrew .They knew what they had to do to beat them and showed up to win. Innisfil opened the scoring with a sweet give and go from Alex to Keigan who buried the biscuit in the basket 3 minutes into the game .Colin Cook kept the pressure on battling for the puck and keeping it in our opponent’s end . The team was up 3 -0 by the end of the first period. Renfrew was able to squeak a few by us in the second but the Hawks answered to them in the top of the third with Keigan Moore scoring their 4th goal with an assist by Vinney Maisuria. With 28 seconds left in the 3rd ,Alex Carauna netted one more ensuring the team went on to win the Championship Gold medal 5-3 . Coaches Kris Moore, Ben Cook, and Gord Hebert are very proud of how the team played and how awesome they represented Innisfil with their Sportsmanship.
