The Innisfil Minor Hockey Association would like to
congratulate the Nantyr Shores Secondary School boys’ hockey team on making school
history — earning their first-ever berth at the OFSAA Provincial
Championship.
As reported by Innisfil Today (read the full article here), the Tritons battled their way
through the GBSSA playoffs and clinched their spot with a thrilling 6-2 victory
over St. Joan of Arc.
Led by Head Coach Jeff Moulton, this group of players — many
of whom grew up skating and playing right here in Innisfil — has truly earned
this moment. Their hard work, determination, and team-first attitude paid off
as they now head to Windor to represent our community at OFSAA,
facing the top high school programs from across Ontario.
Coach Dobson summed it up best in his interview with Innisfil
Today:
“We’re making history. We’ve had good teams over the
years but couldn’t get past that last game. This group came together and did
it. I’m really proud of them.”
The Tritons will compete from March 17–20 and no
matter the outcome, this team has already made Innisfil proud. As a local
hockey association, we couldn’t be more excited to see former IMHA players
achieving success at this level — proving once again that hard work at the
grassroots level leads to incredible opportunities.
On behalf of everyone at Innisfil Minor Hockey, best of
luck to the Nantyr Shores Tritons at OFSAA! We’ll be cheering you on every
step of the way.
