Return To Play Update
Submitted By Innisfil Minor Hockey on Tuesday, June 9, 2020
Hello hockey families,

As you may have heard, Hockey Canada has released a document outlining the plan for return to play. This is incredibly positive news and gives us all hope that we will soon see some plans for getting our players back on the ice for the 20-21 season.

While Hockey Canada has lifted the ban on hockey that was implemented back in March due to Covid-19, we are still very far from being back to the game of hockey as we once knew it.

IMHA has been following the situation closely and is committed to ensuring that we get our players back on the ice as safely and as timely as possible. While this news from Hockey Canada is encouraging, we must keep in mind that all return to play is contingent on the directions from our local health department as well as from our local arena facilities.  This could also mean the possibility that various areas of our country, and even our province,  see different return dates and procedures.

We very much look forward to getting our players back on the ice and back to the great sport of hockey.  While this will most likely look very different than what we are used to, be assured that we will do our best to provide our players with a great hockey experience while following the directions and protocols that are set forth for our return.

We look forward to seeing you at the rink soon and will continue to update you as progress is made on our upcoming hockey season.

Karrie Copelli, Vice President
On behalf for the Innisfil Minor Hockey Association Board of Directors
