RichmondHill Select Tournament Champions
Congratulations to the “Renee Marrelli Century 21” U13 Select Innisfil Winterhawks on their first Tournament win this weekend .
They started out with a 6-5 win against the George Bell Titans. The team had a tough battle in their second game against Lorne Park Clarkson Wild that ended in a 1-1 tie. The Hawks then moved on to an elimination round Quarter Final facing the East York Bulldogs. They were able to shut them down with a 4-0 win and the shutout. Advancing to the semi finals they once again faced the tough Lorne Park Clarkson Wild. With a strong defence,led by quick puck moving offense , the Hawks came ended the game 2-0, to advance onto the Championship game .The final matched the Hawks up against the undefeated Faustina Fury . With an intense back and forth game, tied at 3-3, the team worked vigorously with minutes to go in the third period to net the go ahead goal . The Fury pulled their goalie to try and tie it up, the Hawks shut them down for the tournament win 4-3. The Select team remains undefeated on the season and hopes to build on this Tournament Win experience.
