U16A - OWEN SOUND SILVERSTICK FINALIST!!
What a great weekend for our U16A WinterHawks. This year’s Silverstick comprised of 12 teams with top 4 teams from round robin meeting on Sunday in the semi-finals. The team started out the tournament winning 3-0 against Owen Sound. We took a tough loss in the second game to St.Thomas 3-2. The team bounced back on Saturday night to secure their spot in the semi-finals beating Clarington 8-1 to set up another battle against St. Thomas. With their best game of the year the team ended up beating the OMHA defending champions 2-0!! Off to the finals where the team ended up finishing in second place. What an accomplishment to finish in the top 2 of such an amazing tournament!! By finishing second place we secured our spot in the “The 35th Annual Silver Stick Finals in Newmarket”!!
