Lake Simcoe Cup Champions
The U15A Winterhawks needed a strong finish to qualify for the OMHA tournament. To no surprise of their coach, that's exactly what we did. Our positional play was strong this weekend. We are getting better.
After three round robin wins and a tie, the Hawks defeated the Newmarket Renegades 4-1 in the semi, and in the final the Hawks defeated the Orillia Terriers 4-3 in an OT thriller. I look forward to the next three weeks and preparing this great team for what could be a special OMHA weekend. I said after the Woolwich Memorial that our heart, determination, camaraderie, and "never give up" attitude will take us far this season. Let's see what we can accomplish.
Hats off to the 400 Cup crew, and Innisfil Minor Hockey, for a fantastic inaugural tournament.
