Tyke Programming 2018/2019
Submitted By Innisfil Minor Hockey on Wednesday, August 22, 2018

IMHA is pleased to announce our participation in the YSMHL Tyke Select loop for its inaugural season.

TYKE PROGRAMMING:  The Tyke Select team and the Tyke House League Program are for players born in 2011 and will abide by the 2-Team, Half-Ice model that has been mandated by Hockey Canada.

Innisfil Minor Hockey will be tiering our registered Tyke aged players based on eligibility in both skill and residency. We are projecting that there will be 1 team in each of these categories for the upcoming 2018/2019 season.

HOW IT WORKS:  All of our registered tyke players will begin practices together in the last two weeks of September.  After that time eligible players will be asked to participate on the Tyke Select team. Players must be eligible in both skill and residency; they must live within the Innisfil Minor Hockey Association boundaries, OMHA residential restrictions apply.

The two tyke teams will begin team practices, and will abide by Hockey Canada’s Half-Ice model.  Our Tyke Select team will be scheduled to play a series of exhibition games with other similarly-skilled teams within the YSMHL Tyke Select loop. The Tyke House team will continue to practice in-house and will be invited to attend fun Tyke Jamborees that will be comprised of other centres’ HL teams.
