2015 Jim Wilson Chevrolet Winter Classic Tournament Champs!!!
The Innisfil Minor Atom A team started their tournament Friday morning and faced the Meadowvale Mohawks. Innisfil played hard with lots of passing to beat Meadowvale 8-2! The Hawks next opponent was West Hill on Saturday morning, once again all of the players came together and played a hard game defeating them 14-2! Saturday afternoon the Hawks took on the Grimsby Peach Kings, and played extremely hard and won securing them a spot in the Semi-finals! The Winterhawks proved they were ready for the tough challenges ahead! Sunday morning the Winterhawks took on the Welland Tigers in a hard fought battle. At the end of the third they were tied 5-5 but won with some heroics in the Shootout 6-5. That secured a spot in the finals where they faced the Brampton 45’s. The Winterhawks fought hard, had lots of shots and passed the puck nonstop and found themselves in the third period less than 2 minutes to go and both teams were scoreless! All of the parents were on the edge of their seats the whole game and with 1:26 left the Winterhawks scored to win the tournament 1-0!
It was a well fought tournament and the Innisfil Winterhawks proved they can do anything when they play as a team!
In total the Innisfil Minor Atom A team went undefeated the whole tournament and got a total of 34 goals.
